Sugar Busters Diet

The little-known Sugar Busters Diet is based on the idea that sugar is “toxic”.
The belief is that fat gain is caused by consuming sugar… causing your insulin levels to shoot up… resulting in weight gain.
This plan is based on eating foods that don’t cause large insulin spikes… and of course avoiding those foods that do cause large insulin spikes.
Forbidden Foods:
- White rice
- Corn
- Bread (made of refined flour)
- Potatoes
- Beets
- Carrots
- Refined sugars
- Honey
- Corn syrup
- Regular sodas
Allowed Foods:
- 100% whole grains
- Fibrous vegetables
- Lean meats
- Lean fish
- Fruits
More Details:
- Three meals a day.
- Snacks: nuts and fruit.
Now here’s the problem…
You could go on this diet and not lose any weight at all! Why not? Because just avoiding sugar won’t stop you from stuffing your face with other “Allowed Foods”… that can also cause fat gain.
For example: if you have a problem with controlling your appetite… you will most likely end up eating lots of those allowed “whole grains” (which are LOADED with carbs)… and gain a ton of weight from them!
Let’s face it, calories do count. And although I agree that you should avoid sugar… there is way more to losing fat than just doing that!
Frankly, I think the Sugar Busters Diet is BUSTED.
